Please Share one of your Favourite Quotations
by cofty inhave you ever come across words that resonate with you?
it doesn't have to be a great gem of wisdom, just something that is meaningful to you.. please share, and if you want to, tell us why it's meaningful to you.. here is something that made me nod when i first read it.... .
"fortunate are those who have learned to see, in the wild things of nature, something to be loved, something to be wondered at, something to be reverenced, for they have found the key to a never-failing source of recreation and refreshment".

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost from the poem a road less travelled. This one has been with me and applicable my whole life.

A fish would never get caught if he kept his mouth shut. (My own saying I think. I use it a lot with my wife. LOL)

JW New Bible
by JW GoneBad inthere's a lot of rumble in the grapevine of jws that there difinitely is a new bible that 'mother' is releasing at the upcoming agm.. it would be awesome if we could get a sneak peek at some of the changes.
sure would be nice if some of the lurkers on this forum who work at bethel in the writing, shipping or printing department could help us out.
this would really irritate 'mom'!.

"If I remember correctly the "Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry" book was released either at the Service Meeting or on a Sunday not at a convention or assembly in 1983." I remember that book but I can't remember if it was released at a service meeting or not? Thats a wicked memory you have Blondie.

Most people can't understand JW life, and so it will probably leave a bad impression. If she asks to see your diploma and you don't have it you are going to have to be honest with her about it. Perhaps say you made some bad choices when you were young but your degrees and experience show how you've changed your priorities. Put a positive spin on it.
Thats what my intentions were Laika and thanks for reply. Fortunately my two children will not have to deal with the JW crazyness. They will face life on an even par with thier contemporaries. Thanks again.

Should I just tell her the truth why I did'nt complete my my last 2 credits in 1980(because of my bat shit crazy parents or what?) Most interviews I've had in the last 15 years, no one seemed to care. And don't say go back and take a music and 13 century penumbrian dance elective , I just can't lower myself to that after all I've been through. This interview is important to me, as it would let me go into a slower paced invironment. Is this hard toned Nun just putting on a front? (Taking a big risk here for asking LOL.)

If albumin is allowed when it's not from blood, could white blood cells from mother's milk be allowed?
by ILoveTTATT ini think something that would totally "close the gap" with jw's and not accepting blood but accepting it through the fractions of fractions would be to harvest white blood cells from mother's milk (there are already mother's milk banks) and then transfuse them to witness patients who need wbc's.
since technically they are not from blood, i think it would be an interesting loophole.
anyone here know about a disease that can only be cured/treated with wbc's?
-
Truth seeker 674
You know I Love TTATT I believe white bloods cells are associated with immune response and don't carry oxygen like red blood cells do. But you never know what is research in this area will reveal in the future. There is soooo much research going on out there.

My daughter got her A Levels yesterday and is off to university in September
by Xanthippe inshe took english, maths and physics and acheived a* a* and a. .
it is the best thing possible for me, even better than seeing her opening birthday presents or the day she won the halloween fancy dress prize at school.. her dad died five years ago but she has coped and done so well at school.
it has shown me that despite what happens in life you can still do well and reach your goals, especially if you take a cult upbringing out of the equation!

I think that going off to uni is similar to the happy/sad feeling you get when your daughter gets maaried. On one hand it is what you have worked and dreamed of, your baby on her way to an independant fulfilling life. On the other hand she off doing that on her own. It is what you work for but it kind of gives you a bit of a stab in the heart. Xanthippe, you did a great job, what a great future you have with your daughter.
Soooo! true
